Resina... / Resin...

Ontem inicie a manipulação da resina epoxy pela primeira vez. Algumas dicas estão sendo valiosas:

- Utilizar espátula de plástico ao invés de pincel ou rolinho para espalhar a resina. É mais eficiente, gasta menos material e a limpeza no final se resume a limpar a espátula com papel. Sem usar solventes, sem meleca adicional.

- Iniciar com pequenas quantidades até se ter noção do rendimento de cada pote. Por conta disso acabei gastando mais tempo do que imaginava, mas pelo menos não perdi nenhum pote de resina e também não tive a pressão de trabalhar contra o relógio em nenhum momento. Recomendo esta prática.

Cuidados na manipulação da resina (epoxy é tóxico e se você for sensibilizado pelo produto não poderá nunca mais entrar em contato com ele):

- Usei a máscara 9110 da 3M. Fiquei impressionado pois não senti cheiro forte em nenhum momento do trabalho. Não creio ser a mais adequada para filtragem de gases, mas é barata e vale o gasto.

- Luvas de vinil/latex a todo momento. É só tirar um instante e você verá que rapidamente terá contato da pele com a resina em algum grau. Não tem jeito. Use sempre !

- Óculos de proteção. É incômodo no começo, mas depois de um tempo vc até esquece que está com ele.

Saldo da noite:

Foram 2 horas de trabalho variado. Organizei os materiais no “estaleiro” separando materiais químicos, ferramentas e material de consumo diverso. Cortei o Frame B que estava faltando é a parte principal da montagem do casco. Fiz as duas emendas dos painéis laterais do casco com fibra e resina epoxy, deixando-as já em seu comprimento final. A parte de preparação do ambiente (isolar com lona plástica, forrar com papel parafinado, calcular e pesar corretamente a resina) é o que toma mais tempo. Mas rapidamente ganhamos noção do rendimento da resina para um determinado tipo de tecido de fibra.

Foi um dia de aprendizado e testes com a resina. Cortar madeira é bem mais divertido ;). Já estou com saudades desta etapa.

Today started manipulation of epoxy resin for the very first time. Some tips are valuable:

- I used the 3M 9110 mask. I was impressed because I did not feel strong smell in no time from work. I do not believe to be the most suitable for filtering gases, but cheap and worth the expense.(read further posts where I condemned this filter)

- Vinyl gloves / latex all the time. Just take a moment and you will quickly see that skin contact with the resin to some degree is inevitable. No way. Always use!

- Goggles. It's uncomfortable at first, but after a while u even forget you're with him.

Balance of the night:

There were 2 hours of work varied. Organized the material in the "yard" separating chemicals, tools and consumables diverse. Cut the frame B that was missing is the main part of the mounting shell. Did the two seams of the hull side panels with fiber and epoxy resin, leaving them already in his final length. The preparation part of the environment (isolate with plastic canvas, lining with waxed paper, and weigh correctly calculate the resin) is what takes more time. Sense quickly gained but the yield of the resin for a particular type of fiber fabric.

It was a day of learning and testing with the resin. Cutting wood is much more fun ;). I'm already missing this step.
